Fled Hungary during the 1956 Revolution with his beloved wife Enid after risking his safety to help care for the wounded
1963
Earned M.D. from the University of Liverpool, England
1969
Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, marking his formal entry into American medical practice.
1977
Designated as the Center’s First Chairman of Anesthesiology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Lubbock, TX.
1982
Developed the Racz® Catheter, a spring-wound, shear-resistant device for precise epidural injection in patients with epidural fibrosis.
1989
Introduced the Racz Procedure, a minimally invasive technique for epidural lysis of adhesions, now performed hundreds of thousands of times annually worldwide.
1990
Became Founding President of the Texas Pain Society (TPS) – helped shape regional pain medicine.
1991
Co-founded the World Institute of Pain (WIP) – laying the foundation for global pain education.
1992
First recognition in Best Doctors in America (Woodward/White, Inc.), and named in every edition through 2006.
1996
First Annual Advanced Pain Conference and Practical Workshop held in Budapest; Dr. Racz was its founder and director.
2001
Earned FIPP Certification, one of the first to receive the prestigious international title.
2007
Opened the Messer-Racz International Pain Center at Texas Tech, a new facility named in his honor, as Chairman Emeritus of Anesthesiology, and the Messers.
2012
The start of the journey with the first Racz Lab in Dallas, Tx
